LjuVisPo: Letter sounds and letter pictures
Wednesday 22 November 7–9 pm
C-salen
In Ruth Wolf-Rehfeldt’s visual art, the letters of the typewriter are transformed into pictures. This evening the letters and words are transformed into both sound and image before our eyes. Lina Nordenström uses the typewriter both as a rhythmically sounding instrument and as a source for poetry and images that emerge during the construction process. Cecilie Bjørgås Jordheim lets the absence of letters create the basis for her works, which are played on a music box. Bengt Adlers has worked for four decades with phonetic similarity, word games and language as materials for his authorship. Kontorsorkestern is one of two orchestras in the world that plays serious music on the typewriter and consists of the composers of the music: Aron Fleming-Falk, Janos Vetö, Lukas Nystrand, Niklas Fridén, Morgan Schagerberg, Ida Mårdhed and Helena Juréen plus musical director Robbert Vera Ek. This evening we bring together four forms of artistry for an experience that revolves around upon the magic of letters.
The evening’s host is Joakim Norling, editor of the magazine/publishing house Timglaset.
Admission is free but places are limited.
