The last standing scores, from the original ten movements placed in an abandoned black walnut grove outside Kemptville, Ontario in Canada.
Wind, rain, sun, weather changes and animals have chewed, washed out staff lines and altered shape and colour to these scores.
The 6th, 7th and 10th movement didn't make it.
The scores often suggests a performative outcome, and a new pile of ten new movements has been placed out in the black walnut grove. At the end, the project will conclude in a collection and performance of four seasons, according to the grove.
My work often thematises the human need for systematisation and questions if there is a direct connection between language and the world; topography, typography, text, architecture, movement and sound. Where reading practices of geography generate musical and/or visual scores, the result is a verbalisation of geography.
